Vedrin, the Isle of Water, is an international witchcraft and Wicca
forum that includes a school of the craft, a role-play section and a
discussion board.
What distinguishes us from other witchy forums is that we have a school of witchcraft and Wicca. It offers free courses in magick on the web. Everyone is welcome to join a class to enhance their knowledge of magick in a fun environment.
The forum has a role-playing section. It is loosely based on the Harry Potter universe, i.e. there are pure-bloods and Muggles, we have four houses, although not the stereotypical ones (no Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin), and you may run into one character or other from the HP universe in the corridors --- but other than that, we are just our own magical selves.
You do not get Sorted, you get to pick the house you identify with most. But as YV is located in an all-magickal dimension, the role-playing will be more independent from the original, leave more room for creativity and your own ideas – and other enemies than just Voldy.
We do not tie witchcraft discussion, role-play and classes in the sense that you have to do all three of them. The new forum is going to have different sections, so everyone can choose the sections that interest them. You can do classes and not role-play, but you can also role-play and not take classes, or simply meet people to talk about witchy stuff. Of course you are all most welcome to join us at Ynis Vedrin.
